August 13, 2024 Gothenburg, Sweden – 13th of August, 2024 – ENTEGA, EMS and Eliq have jointly introduced the ENTEGA Cockpit app for the dynamic ENTEGA green electricity tariff. This app allows household customers with and without smart meters maximum cost- and consumption control. Customers can view their consumption data and the associated costs and manage accordingly. On behalf of the parent company ENTEGA, Energy Market Solutions launched the customer app ENTEGA Cockpit at the beginning of August. The app is available in collaboration with the ENTEGA green electricity tariff, which was introduced in 2023. This tariff is available to all electricity customers, regardless of whether they have a smart meter, based on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from price fluctuations on the electricity exchange. Florian Müller, Managing Director at Energy Market Solutions, emphasised at the launch: “We are firmly convinced that energy consumers are the key to a successful energy transition. But there is currently a lack of either awareness or effective tools to influence individual electricity consumption and costs.” With the ENTEGA Cockpit app, ENTEGA and EMS provide their customers with a tool for the dynamic tariff, allowing them to actively influence their energy usage and costs. European cooperation: ENTEGA, EMS and Eliq The basis of the ENTEGA Cockpit is the Eliq Energy Insights Platform, which is already established in several European markets and has been adapted to the specifics of the German electricity market in recent months. Joint further developments are already being planned. Håkan Ludvigson, CEO of Eliq, sees great advantages for everyone involved in the cooperation: “In close collaboration with the market specialists from EMS, we were able to tailor the solution to the specific needs of the German electricity market. The expansion to include non-smart-meter-based applications and the development roadmap for the coming months and years promise the Eliq Energy Insight Platform to be highly relevant for utilities and end customers in Germany.” Dynamic tariffs accelerate energy transition For EMS and ENTEGA, dynamic tariffs are a big energy transition enabler. Antje Winter, Managing Director of ENTEGA Plus GmbH and EMS, explains why: “Not only can they bring tangible monetary benefits for consumers and relieve the burden on the energy system as a whole, they above all create transparency and dialogue around the topic of energy transition.” For most consumers – especially prosumers who have invested in controllable energy transition technology – find dynamic tariffs with their flexibility incentives highly attractive. Consumers with smart meters benefit directly from shifting their consumption from expensive hours to low-priced hours. But even among customers without smart meters, awareness of price dynamics will change consumption behaviour in the future, Florian Müller predicts. As a result, consumer demand for smart meters could increase and conscious grid-friendly behaviour could increase. However, a mandatory prerequisite for this is a visualisation of consumption and costs in an app. Advantages of the ENTEGA Cockpit app + Transparency and cost control: Households always keep an eye on their green electricity consumption and the associated costs. + Smart green electricity at the exchange price: Green electricity is purchased at the current hourly exchange price. Customers benefit directly from particularly favourable times on the stock market. + Optimization of electricity costs: With a smart meter, individual electricity consumption can be proactively shifted to cheaper times. + Detailed consumption analysis: The app provides deep insights into energy consumption and shows individually how electricity can be used more efficiently. The aim is to cover the one billion kilowatt hours required by its own green electricity private customers with green electricity from its own plants. About Energy Market Solution (EMS) Energy Market Solutions (EMS) from Berlin is a subsidiary of ENTEGA. The company sees itself as an accelerator of an electricity-led energy transition. The solutions offered are aimed at private and commercial consumers, producers and prosumers and range from standard electricity products to heat and car electricity to exchange-indexed tariffs for commercial, industrial and private electricity customers. For B2B partners from energy-related or non-energy sectors, EMS implements all of these solutions individually in co-branding or white label, thus enabling these companies, as new players in the energy market, to expand their business model to include electricity-based offers.
