Last updated: 24 August 2026 · Version 2.0
Eliq is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal data about the people we do business with — anyone who requests a demo, contacts us, subscribes to our updates or attends our events — and about visitors to eliq.com.

1. Who we are
Eliq AB, Swedish company registration number 556763-2699, Stora Badhusgatan 18 - 20, 411 21 Gothenburg, Sweden, is the controller for the processing described in this policy.
Eliq AB is the parent company of Eliq Limited (WeWork, Kings Place, London N1 9AG, United Kingdom) and Eliq UAB (J. Jasinskio g. 14B, 01112 Vilnius, Lithuania). Depending on where you are and who you deal with, your enquiry may be handled by one of these companies, and your information may be shared between them for the purposes described here. Eliq AB remains responsible for the processing, and is your point of contact for any question or request.
Data Protection Officer
We have appointed a Data Protection Officer, Olof Hartelius, who can be reached at hello@eliq.com or by post at the address above.
For any question or request about your personal data, including the rights set out in section 9, please write to hello@eliq.com.
2. What we collect
When you fill in a form on our website
Our demo and contact forms ask for your first name, last name and work email address, which are required, and your phone number, company name and country, which are optional. There is also a free-text message box. Please include only what is relevant to your enquiry, and avoid sensitive personal details about yourself or anyone else.
Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which checks whether a submission is automated. It collects your IP address and information about how you interact with the page, and is subject to Google's privacy policy. We use it to prevent spam and abuse.
When you subscribe or respond to an advert
If you subscribe to our updates — on our website or through an advert on a platform such as LinkedIn — we collect the contact details you provide and a record of what you agreed to receive.
When we work together
We also collect your job title and place of work, our correspondence with you (emails, letters and notes of calls and meetings, including the date and subject), and, for events, your registration details and any dietary requirements you tell us about.
From other sources
We may obtain and update business contact details from the company you represent, from company websites and professional networks, and from business contact-data providers. Where we obtain your details this way, we will tell you within one month, or when we first contact you, whichever comes first.
Sensitive information
We do not seek it. Where you give us dietary or allergy information for an event, we use it only to cater for you, on the basis of your explicit consent, and delete it after the event. Please do not send sensitive information by email — email is not a secure channel.
Visitors to our website
We use cookies and similar technologies on eliq.com. When you first visit, you choose which categories to allow — only strictly necessary cookies are used before you decide.
You can see the full list at any time, including who provides each cookie, what it does and how long it lasts, and change or withdraw your choices, by clicking the cookie icon at the bottom left of any page on eliq.com.
3. Why we process your information
Respond to a demo request or enquiry, and arrange and follow up meetings
Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries
Manage our relationship with you and the company you represent, deliver our services, and run day-to-day operations
Performance of a contract; our legitimate interest in managing business relationships where you act for a company rather than in your own name
Send newsletters, product updates and event invitations to people who have asked for them
Your consent, given when you subscribe
Contact people working in the energy sector whose role suggests a professional interest in what we do, where they have not subscribed
Our legitimate interest in reaching a relevant professional audience, balanced against your interest in not receiving unwanted contact
Prevent spam and abuse on our forms
Our legitimate interest in protecting our systems
Administer events, including catering
Performance of a contract or our legitimate interests; your explicit consent for dietary and allergy information
Establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and meet compliance and audit obligations
Legal obligation; our legitimate interests
Publish testimonials and customer stories
Marketing, in plain terms.
Submitting a marketing form to download content or request a demo means we will get back to you about your enquiry and it signs sign you up to our marketing and you will receive our newsletter and similar communications. Every message has an unsubscribe link and you can request to be excluded from marketing communications at any time.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can ask us for details of the assessment we carried out.
Do you have to give us your information? Not by law. But without a name and a work email address we cannot respond to an enquiry, and without certain details we may not be able to provide what you or your company expect from us.
4. Who we share it with
Our people employees and consultants, limited to those who need it to do their jobs.
Other Eliq group companies — as described in section 1.
Service providers acting on our instructions, under written data processing agreements: our customer relationship and marketing platform (HubSpot, hosted in the EU), email delivery (Brevo), website hosting and delivery, form protection (Google reCAPTCHA), event management, IT and backup services, and our professional advisers. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
Advertising platforms — where you have consented to marketing cookies. Your cookie settings, reached from the icon at the bottom left of any page, list these providers.
Authorities — where the law requires it, or in response to a valid request from a regulator or law enforcement.
A buyer or investor — in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Where we process it
We process and store your information within the EU/EEA wherever we can, and our customer relationship platform and website forms are hosted in the EU.
Some of our providers are established outside the EU/EEA, or may access data from there — including Google and HubSpot in the United States. Where information leaves the EU/EEA, we rely on:
the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, supported by an assessment of the destination country and, where needed, additional technical and organisational measures; and
an adequacy decision, where one applies. The United Kingdom is covered by an adequacy decision renewed in December 2025, so information shared with Eliq Limited needs no further safeguard. For certified recipients in the United States, we may also rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Contact us if you would like a copy of the safeguards we use.

6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and we review our records regularly to remove what we no longer need. How long that is depends on the information and on our relationship with you:
While we are in touch or working together, and for a reasonable period afterwards — so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off, honour our commitments, and deal with any question or claim that arises from them.
Where we no longer have a reason to hold your details — an enquiry that did not lead anywhere, or a subscription you have cancelled — we delete them. If you have unsubscribed, we keep a minimal record of that so that we do not contact you again by mistake.
Contract and accounting records are kept for seven years, as Swedish accounting law requires.
Dietary and allergy information given for an event is deleted once the event has taken place.
Where a legal claim is involved, we may keep information for as long as it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend that claim.
You can ask us at any time how long we expect to keep information about you, and you can ask us to delete it — see section 9.

8. How we protect it

These include access controls on a need-to-know basis, encryption of data in transit, two-factor authentication on our internal systems, and contractual security obligations on the providers we use.

9. Your rights
You have the right to ask us to:
give you access to the personal data we hold about you, and a copy of it;
correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete;
delete it, where it is no longer needed for the purpose we collected it, or where you withdraw your consent and no other basis applies;
restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances;
stop processing that relies on our legitimate interests — and if you object to direct marketing, we will stop, without exception;
transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, in a machine-readable format, where that is technically feasible;
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, write to hello@eliq.com. We will respond within one month, and will tell you if a complex request needs longer. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
