PRIVACY NOTICE
Eliq AB (“we”, “us” or “Eliq”) is dedicated to protecting your privacy. It is important to us that you are aware of what information we collect about you, how it is collected and how we use your personal data, in connection with your use of the Energy Insights service. We also want to tell you about your rights relating to your data and how to exercise your rights.

Energy Insights is a service provided in an app where we analyze the way your household uses electricity and gas over time to provide you with analyses on your consumption patterns and recommendations on how you could reduce your energy consumption (when we use the word “service” we are referring to the Energy Insights service).

Personal information we collect and where we collect it from
Information which we receive from you directly.
We collect information about your heating type, hot water system, amount of people living together, type of building (apartment/house/other), size of living space, type of home appliances and devices, information regarding solar panels, information regarding electric vehicles, information regarding you energy usage, location of your electricity supply point, geographical location, zip code, inside/outside temperature and similar properties. We collectively refer to the information above as “household data”. Because it’s data which relates to your household.
We also collect your contact information, such as your name, email address, or phone number.

If you have an automatic “smart” electricity or gas meter we collect information about your electricity consumption (both imported and exported electricity), and your gas consumption. We collect granular electricity and gas data down to quarterly, half-hourly or hourly reads depending on what your meter is able to provide. If you have an automatic “smart” electricity or gas meter we also collect some of the household data (depending on what your meter is able to provide) from your meter, such as geographical location, zip code, location of your electricity or gas supply point and information about inside/outside temperature. We collect this data to provide you with accurate insights into your energy consumption, helping you make informed decisions to reduce your energy usage.

What we do with your personal information
Eliq processes personal data for the following purposes and based on the following legal bases:

• To communicate with you about the Energy Insights services. We will process your contact information to communicate with you if you contact us. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing you with information related to the Energy insights service. The processing will continue until 90 days have passed since our conversation ended, when we correspond with you

.• To access your smart meter data and collect smart meter information, Eliq connects to national smart meter systems via N3rgy data service. N3rgy collects, stores, manages and shares your meter data with Eliq. They use the Smart Energy Code www.smartenergycompany.co.uk ​ ​under SEC Party credentials of n3rgy data limited, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with the company number 11712674. The data received will be used to show you insights about your energy use. The data includes information identifying your energy meter (number, location & type), energy tariff information including the price you are charged for the energy you use, details about your consumption and export of electric and gas half hourly. The legal basis for this processing is your given consent. You have a right to recall your consent at any time. Consent will be valid for 2 years, or until you revoke it (which you can do in the app). If you’re still using the service in two years you’ll be asked to consent again.

• To develop new services. We will process household data and data on electricity or gas consumption data to develop and improve new Eliq services, if you consent to it. The legal basis for this processing is your given consent. You have a right to recall your consent at any time. The processing will continue until you recall your consent, you stop using the service or until we consider the data to be irrelevant for the development of new services. Information we share
We will share your personal data with our suppliers and subcontractors for the purposes described in this privacy notice. Our suppliers and subcontractors are not authorised by us to use or disclose your personal data except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. We engage electricity suppliers to gather data from electricity meters and cloud service providers for hosting our IT-infrastructure.
In addition, we may disclose information about you if we are required to do so by law or legal process, or to law enforcement agencies following an appropriate request.
We will not sell your personal details to third parties.
Eliq will pass your address details to N3RGY to retrieve your smart meter details
Eliq will use your In Home Display Number to verify you have access to the smart meter linked to your address.

Where we process your personal data
We store and process your data within the EU/EEA and the UK.

How long we keep your information
Eliq keeps your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. Generally, we need to keep most of your personal data during our contractual or business relationship with you and the company you represent. Following the termination of your contract, we will retain data collected via the service for 30 days. Contact information (e.g., name and email) will be retained for 90 days after contract termination.

Your rights
You have the right to know what personal data we process about you and may request a copy free of charge.
You are also entitled to have incorrect data about you corrected and you may in some cases ask us to delete your personal data, for example if the personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
You may also object to certain personal data about you being processed and request that processing of your personal data is limited. Please note that limitation or deletion of personal data may result in that we cannot provide the service to you.
You also have the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format and have the data transferred to another party responsible for data processing. If we process personal data about you based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the legality of any processing performed up to that point.
You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Supervisory Authority in the country you live or work in, if you believe that we have not complied with our obligations regarding your personal data. In Sweden the Supervisory Authority is Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Sw. Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten), and you can find more information at their website: www.imy.se.

Security
Eliq uses technical and organisational security measures to help protect your personal data against loss and to guard it against access by unauthorised persons. We use encryption, access controls, and regular security audits to protect your data from unauthorized access. We regularly review our security policies to ensure our systems are secure and protected.

Updates to our privacy notice
This privacy notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the service or our collection and use of your personal data. We will notify you of any significant changes to our privacy notice and indicate at the bottom of the privacy notice when it was most recently updated.

Eliq is the responsible entity (controller) for the processing of your personal data as described above. Eliq is subject to Swedish data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
