CGE-Naturgy Contracts with Eliq

Spanish energy group Naturgy has contracted with Eliq to deliver a 12 month customer engagement project for its subsidiary CGE, Chile’s largest electricity utility.

CGE is Chile’s largest electricity utility, supplying energy to roughly half of the country’s 6.5 million homes. The company, and its Spanish parent, Naturgy, have now contracted with Eliq, a Swedish software company that specialises in energy insights and mobile apps for utilities.

We believe that our customers need better ways of communication with us and also, better ways to control their energy use, participating in the energy transition. We decided working with a company with this experience and we chose Eliq”

– Luis Zarauza, Country Manager Chile, CGE

The new app, to be launched this coming summer in Chile as a pilot for a group of customers, will enable customers to be notified and kept up-to-date on power outages, compare and better understand their energy consumption, find ways to save energy, whilst being able to pay their bill using their phone.

“With a digitally savvy and environmentally conscious population, we think the new app is going to be well received by Chilean energy customers”

– Håkan Ludvigson, CEO and founder, Eliq

Eliq has previously delivered similar solutions to utilities in Scandinavia, the UK, France and Spain and this contract marks the company’s first entry into a non-European country.
