CKW uses Eliq to launch the “CKW Energy tracker”

Gothenburg, Sweden, February 2023 – CKW, a leading Swiss provider of integrated energy and building technology solutions,  – has chosen an Eliq solution to give their customers insights into their energy consumption.

“Our tests with a test group of around 450 households have shown that the CKW Energy Tracker saves 3 – 5% of electricity within a few weeks and around 8% on average after a few months, compared to the control group. Even several months after the test, the test group used the app regularly, sometimes even several times a week. Since the test, it has become clear to us that more detailed knowledge about one’s own electricity consumption motivates us to save electricity.”

explains Thomas Reithofer, Head of the Energy Division at CKW.

The “CKW Energy Tracker” app can be used by CKW electricity customers in the CKW supply area. In addition, an intelligent electricity meter, a so-called smart meter, is required. CKW has already replaced 120,000 meters, and by the summer of 2024, all CKW customers will have a smart meter.

“Now more than ever, consumers need to be in control over how energy is used and distributed in their homes. It’s great to be working with innovative companies like CKW who actively want to help their customers through the energy transition.”

says Will Ephraim, Head of Business Development (UK) Eliq.

Data has the power to help inspire and empower customers to make better choices for their wallets, and to start their journey towards Net Zero. Eliq has a belief that these tools will be embedded in digital products across the entire energy ecosystem, enabling simple and intelligent energy choices available to all. The CKW Energy tracker is a clear example of how data can inspire innovation within energy services to support energy customers.
